Located at 5718 Wattsburg Rd in Erie, Pennsylvania, 3 Elements BJJ and MMA was founded in 2005 by Marc Yates, who earned his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt from Robert Drysdale in June 2013. In December 2014, brothers Tom and Brad Gardner assumed ownership and operations, and in March 2016 the academy affiliated with the BJJ Revolution Team under Rodrigo Medeiros and Julio Fernandez. Head BJJ Instructor Brad Gardner earned his black belt in November 2018 and leads a curriculum built around the three core concepts of escape, control, and submission alongside Assistant BJJ Instructors Josh Cummings and Elias Buhl and Striking Instructor Jeremy Sakuta. The weekly schedule includes BJJ Gi on Tuesdays at 6:15 pm, BJJ NoGi on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 6:15 pm, Saturday BJJ Open Mat at 10:00 am, Saturday Kids BJJ at 12:15 pm, Tuesday and Thursday Kickboxing at 5:00 pm, Wednesday MMA at 5:00 pm, and Wrestling.
