Willows Jiu-Jitsu & MMA

Willows Jiu-Jitsu & MMA is a grappling, striking, and mixed martial arts academy located at 1070 W. Wood St, Suite D in Willows, California. The gym is owned and led by Head Instructor Joy Ann Pendell, a Willows High graduate, three-time IBJJF World Champion as a black belt (Master 1, No-Gi) in 2021 and 2023, and professional MMA fighter holding the A1 Combat and Supreme Fight Night Women's Featherweight titles. She is joined by No-Gi Grappling Coach Steven Garman, a lifelong grappler who has wrestled since 2003 and earned his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Bruno Lima in 2023, and Striking Coach Bryanna "Pink Ranger" Fissori, a retired professional boxer and Bellator, World Series of Fighting Global, and Pancrase MMA veteran. Monday and Wednesday classes cover Gi Youth Jiu-Jitsu for ages 5 to 8 and 9 to 13, MMA, and Adult Gi Jiu-Jitsu, while Tuesday and Thursday feature Youth and Adult No-Gi and Striking. Loaner uniforms and gear are available for a first class, and the gym offers a free class.
