Rising Son MMA

Rising Son MMA is located at 1725 Pardee St in Wausau, Wisconsin. Opened near the turn of 2008 by founder Master Lah Thao and co-founder Shirley Thao, the academy occupies a custom-built facility equipped with training mats, heavy bags, free weights, tractor tires, kettle bells, cardiovascular machines, a sauna, and showers. Master Lah Thao holds a 5th Degree Blackbelt in Taekwondo, serves as a licensed MMA coach in Wisconsin and Minnesota, and won the 2009 NAGA Intermediate Championship alongside 145 lb titles in Ring of Fire and Konquer The Kage, while Shirley Thao holds a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo and USA Boxing coaching certification. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction is taught by Adults Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor Scotty Writz and Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor Kyle Zimick. Classes run Monday through Friday across morning and evening adult BJJ, Kid's BJJ, Boxing, Muay Thai, MMA, Taekwondo, Private Lessons, and Team Building seminars.
